Gift Gallery at CGH
Carteret General Hospital is fortunate to have many volunteers who give thousands of hours of their time and services in assisting the hospital, our patients, and employees.
The talents and generosity of this dedicated group of individuals are expressed throughout the hospital in a variety of ways. Volunteers may choose to work directly with patients and visitors or support hospital staff. Over 100 volunteers make a difference in the hospital by assisting with directions, escorting patients, golf cart driver and clerical tasks such as filing.
Some volunteers offer books or magazines to patients. Sewing ladies make stockinette caps for all the newborns.
The Volunteers also sponsor many fundraisers during the year. The Gift Gallery is one of the most important fundraising efforts. The Gift Gallery is more than a "hospital gift shop." In addition to a beautiful assortment of fresh flowers, the shop has a large assortment of gift ideas and decorative accessories for the home. Funds raised by the Volunteers are used for the purchase of medical equipment and renovations that enhance patient care and comfort.
Volunteers are necessary to provide the extras that add so much to our patient's comfort. Their unselfish dedication is appreciated by our patients, employees, and visitors alike. Anyone interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities is encouraged to call the Volunteer Director's office at 808-6046. or e-mail volunteer@ccgh.org.
